BIG IN BRITAIN: MILLION POUND DROP
Here’s a look at a hot new game-show that’s been making a lot of headlines in the UK this week – Million Pound Drop.
The idea is pretty simple – a cool million is up for grabs – but unlike other game shows you get to physically handle the cash. Contestants must then stake portions of the money – in 25K increments – on the answers to questions – with the gimmick being that if they lose – the cash is instantly ‘dropped’ before their very eyes.
The show’s hosted by Big Brother queen Davina McCall (the loudest woman on Brit TV!) and has been getting good ratings across the week (it’s been specially stunted, as a live show, from Monday to Saturday).
Unfortunately no one has won a penny so far – oops!
That said, I’d expect to see a US version by the end of the year – it looks pretty darn good! Though I imagine the American version will have more bells and whistles – and the trapdoors themselves will get a big upgrade (I mean seriously – how cheap do those things look!)
Anyway, here’s a behind the scenes look at the making of the show (I love how modest the British production team are – it takes me back!)
And remember – you read it here first…

clever concept though, fill up airtime, make loads in ad revenue, but give nothing away. Don’t imagine the appeal of the show will last long though.. it is complete and utter sh1t.

Million Pound Drop is utter shit. They drag it out for an hour – it becomes boring pretty quickly and the odds of winning are ridiculous.
