CELEBRITY APPRENTICE: AND THE WINNER IS…
Poor Celebrity Apprentice. After some fairly good ratings all season, and the unfortunate buzz created by Bret Michaels’ health issues, the stage was set for a strong finale episode… except the Donald Trump juggernaut had the misfortune to be up against the last ever Lost. Talk about bad timing!
I was a fan of Celebrity Apprentice for the first few weeks of this season – drawn in by the appeal of Sharon Osbourne and Cyndi Lauper going head to head. But the agonizingly drawn out boardroom scenes (see my Fast Forward piece), lack of stakes (do I really care who wins or loses?) and rampant and unimaginative produce placement finally proved too much for me.
I like Celebrity Apprentice – but bring it back as an hour a week, raise the stakes and book fewer, but better celebs, and I’ll be there.
In the meantime, for those of you who missed the show’s final moments – and the winner’s reveal – here it is…

The only thing about the extended boardroom scenes is that it gives us more cat fighting, back stabbing, and throwing under the bus-isness . . . what was painful for me was watching the often pathetic attempts at creativity. Yes, they were under some incredible pressure with deadlines and such. I'll give them their due. But, criminy . . . as much as I like Brett, everything 'rocked your world'. Puleeze! I think Holly got shafted.
