Here it is, hands down the BEST moment from this year’s Emmy Awards – as Jimmy Fallon, a few of the Glee cast and a ragtag of other celebrities take to the stage for a rendition of Born To Run…

I loved the Kate Gosellin gag (good for her!), seeing Jon Hamm’s comedic side again and the always fabulous Jane Lynch in action. All in all it was a great way to start the show – even better than Neil Patrick Harris’ terrific ‘Put Down That Remote’ last year…(see below!)

As for the rest of the show though – here’s a few thoughts from my end…

- Jimmy Fallon: Great guy but not such a hot host. Aside from the opening he hardly did anything, aside from some very lame Twitter gags and an okay musical parody later in the show that mocked Elton John, Green Day and 24 (including a ‘why doesn’t Jack ever go the restroom gag’ that was older than Elton’s last hit). Not a patch on NPH last year…

- And speaking of great hosts… how fantastic was Ricky Gervais‘ presenting speech. After a succession of awkward autocue moments (oh Matthew Perry and Lauren Graham how I feel for you) Ricky was sharp, funny and effortless. More please!

- Am I the only one getting a bit tired of the constant Betty White overkill? Yes, she’s a national treasure. Yes, The Golden Girls is still TV gold. But nowadays the gag tends to be – give Betty something sexual or risque to say or do and voila instant comedy. Sorry guys, the joke got old months ago. And I hate to say it but Betty’s delivery can sometimes be really off…

- Jane Lynch and Ryan Murphy thanking their wife and partners respectively. Matthw Weiner thanking his wife. Cough. Sure…

- Sofia Vergara could read the phone book on stage and still be sexy and utterly charming…

- What was the point of the Reality section of the show exactly? To give out one award? I make unscripted TV and even I found this part of the evening a total snooze…

- Who cut all the ‘best of’ montages this year? Cause they weren’t very good…. were these really the best moments of 2009-10? Please…

- Aaron Paul winning for Breaking Bad… life imitating art perhaps? What was he on?

- Well done to the big winners of the night Modern Family and Mad Men – totally deserved. The Emmy’s got it just right this year for comedy and drama… For a list of the rest of the night’s winners click here... Personally I was thrilled for Jane Lynch, Jim Parsons and Eric Stonestreet

But what did you think of the Emmys 2010? Were you pleased with the results? Who do you think got robbed? And who do you think should host next year…?
