Winners and Losers From The Last 7 Days

GORDON RAMSAY: It’s definitely been a good ratings summer for Gordon Ramsay.

A few weeks ago we commented on how ratings for Hell’s Kitchen and MasterChef had held up well this year – and this week proved even stronger for TV’s shoutiest reality star!

On Monday night Hell’s Kitchen pulled in 6.99 million viewers and a hefty 2.9 18-49 share. That’s the show’s highest ratings and demo numbers all season.

And the good news continued for the two-part MasterChef finale. Monday’s episode managed 6.08 million viewers and a 2.4 youth share. For Fox it was their highest rated summertime Monday night in three years (and the biggest in the demo for four).

But the real big news was on Tuesday – when MasterChef hit 7.12 million and a 2.9 18-49 share – the show’s highest rating ever

Yep, Gordon Ramsay isn’t going anywhere soon…

BIG BROTHER: This summer really has been the year of the reality veterans with old stalwarts like America’s Got Talent and Gordon Ramsay far out-rating the new kids on the block like Expedition Impossible and Love In The Wild (which ended its run this week with a season low 4.41 million and a 1.4 18-49 share).

Wednesday’s episode pulled in a strong 8.14 million viewers and a great (for summer) 3.1 youth demo share – the franchise’s best 18-49 numbers in 4 years. And Thursday’s results weren’t bad either – 7.74 million and a 2.9 demo.

No wonder CBS is so lazy in its programming! Why take risks on flops like Same Name when the likes of Big Brother, The Amazing Race and Survivor are still delivering?

IN THE FLOW: So there’s a new sketch comedy show on Fox called In The Flow with Affion Crockett. Never heard of it? Well you’re not alone!

Yep, clearly already knowing they have a disaster on their hands, Fox dumped In The Flow onto the Sunday night schedule with so little fanfare I doubt if half the people working at the network even knew it existed!

The double bill of episodes scored just 2.66 and 2.25 million viewers respectively – and a 1.3 and a 1.0 18-49 share. That’s WORSE than re-runs of the Simpsons and Family Guy on the same guy, which at least managed over 3 million viewers.

And talking of dumped shows – check out the ratings for ABC’s Karaoke Battle USA. Friday’s night’s debut of the music competition show nobody is talking about managed just 3.74 million viewers and a 0.9 18-49 share – about the same as a Shark Tank repeat.

HOT IN CLEVELAND: She may be America’s most popular celebrity, but Betty White is starting to need some help on the ratings front these days.

Hot In Cleveland may still be a hit for TV Land, but with just 1.77 million viewers this week the show is fading fast. Last season Cleveland regularly hit the 3 million mark. This time around it’s often not even reaching 2 million. And remember this is a show that’s only in its second season! At this rate Cleveland will soon slip below it’s younger companion show Happily Divorced (which this week pulled in 1.64 million)

Will Hot In Cleveland go much beyond a third series I wonder…?
